Wan Tan Mee

Thursday, December 8th, 2005

This is the place to be for a springy, beautiful texture and slightly crunchy wan tan noodles ! That’s what makes this place special and always thronged by a big big crowd. On sunday evening, u can see ppl flocking to it! However, one thing lucky is their servie is fast and that cut down the waiting time.

I’m not an avid fan for wan tan mee, but i find that the noodle are really nice and a bit bouncy as what they are famous for. Besides, their char siew are superb. But wan tan is so so only.

Anyhow, this place is a little bit difficult for parking coz it’s beside a busy road, Jalan Sg Besi. It’s somewhere opposite (not directly opposite) the SG Besi old airport. If u know about the Nichii Fashion House and Volvo showroom is Jalan Sg Besi, this stall is juz slightly further down from this two shops.

Midvalley Oasis Food Court

Thursday, December 1st, 2005

Located in the 2nd floor of midvalley, Oasis is the place where the famous IKAN BAKAR (Grilled fish) and tantalising PAN MEE is located!

For those who are craving spicy yet well-grilled ikan bakar, this is a good place to try … during lunch and dinner hour, you can see long queue in the stall waiting for their orders to be served! They have a variety of seafood to be choose from, like sotong (squid) and ikan pari!

Grilled Ikan Pari

The Pan Mee as well is not bad! But compared to one that i have in taman muda, ampang, i would prefer the latter which has more crunchy ikan bilis and also sweeter soup! However, the home made noodle in this midvalley stall is very smooth …

U-Village

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

I’m pretty sure that Kim Gary is a household name when mentioned about Hong Kong food. How about U-Village?

Well, U-village is kinda alike with Kim Gary, they served noodles, rice, cheese steam with rice … however, i would prefer U-village rather than Kim Gary as U-Village has more choices and varieties …. in a way, its food are more special, it’s something that we can’t really find in other food outlets. For instance, their all time chef recommendation, Pumpkin Rice with Pork Chop!

Pumpkin Rice with Pork Chop

I was there during saturday, it was quite crowded and most of the people were eating this Pumpkin rice with Pork Chop! I decided to try something else coz im not really into pumpkin :> I ordered Yau Ma Teh Chicken Rice instead … The first mouthful of it really makes me flying up to the heaven ! Alas, the rice is not warm enough and it’s a bit dry! S what i did is i ask for some curry chicken gravy to complement it … and as a whole, it’s really superb … u get a bit of salty taste, a bit of curry taste, that make it tantalising! My friend ordered the Macau Curry Chicken rice which also tastes good! They have a good combination of curry spice !
