Da Chang Jin – The Korean Restaurant
“Da Chang Jing”, a very well-known name for those korean movie lovers. In malaysia, Da Chang Jin has been taken as name for a few korean restaurant. Just somehow wondering why.
Opposite the Hotel Sri Petaling there’s “Da Chang Jin” restaurant. The food is not too bad but somehow the price is a bit expensive I would say, weighing on the portion they’re serving :> Choices are quite limited as well.
As you can see from the picture, they have BBQ sliced pork, beef, … and also the “korean tom yam” … something which looks similar to our tomyam, but not too sure what it’s called ๐
One thing I really like about korean food is they’ll serve a lot a lot of side dishes which makes your table look so grand and as if you’re eating like an emperor… haha …
When this restaurant first open, they have really large crowd and you have to queue for seat. However, as days passed by, the ppl dwells perhaps it’s due to the “excitedness” is not there anymore.
Let me know if you’ve been there before and tell me what you think!

Hi Fattien, it’s really expensive. A small plate of sliced raw pork for bbq can cost up to Rm25-30 bucks. The “Shun Fatt” is nice, especially their “Chef recommended Curry Fish” and also the Pork in Pineapple. You tried the crab before?

I have been there 4 times. the first 2 times were when the restaurant were just newly opened. Both times I went to the one near Kallang MRT Station. Maybe because it was new, the food tasted nice and presentable. The hygiene was ok too. The third time my friends and I went to try their new branch in Beach Road. It was a bad decision. 7 out of the 12 people ate out there that night got food poisoning. The most sever one was even sent to the hospital by a ambulance the next day and was hospitalized for the night. The last time i decided to go back to Kallang branch with my daughter, thinking the food poisoning episode happened in beach road branch and it should be ok in the kallang branch. And i totally regret it. The food looks stale and messy and not fresh. The whole place is noisy and dirty and smelly. The taste of that draw me back again and again was lost. I did not enjoy it at all. The worst thing is, my daughter’s had diarrhea and complained that her stomach hurts. I had enough really terrible experiences with Da Chang Jin and I will NEVER go back again.
another thing i want to bring up too is their advertising practice and pricing. I thought that we could get the buy-6-get-1-free promotion I saw on the internet without indicating on which days it is not applicable. When we got there, they refused to give us the promotion because it was on a friday night. My daughter who is 10 years old was charged adult price because their child price is only for kids who are 120cm and below. come on. my son is 120cm and he is only 7. it should be baby price, not child price.
